ANTI-LOCK BRAKES
Cars in Iran should be required to by law to have an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
It can be difficult to stop a car fast when an emergency situation occurs, like a child running across the street, or a car accident happening up ahead. ABS can help cars avoid this situations by allowing:
Usually, in an emergency situation when a driver feels like they need to stop the car as fast as possible, a person would slam down on the brakes as hard and fast as they can. With out an anti-lock brake system, the brakes would end up locking the wheels so that they stop spinning, which would make the car continue sliding on its tires which would have no grip on the road, and it would be it impossible for the person to steer the car because the wheels would be locked in all directions. This can eventually lead to the car spinning out of control if the car is going at a fast enough speed to do so. An out of control car situation is avoidable, with Anti-Lock Braking Systems. ABS keeps the wheels of a car from locking when the brakes are slammed during an emergency. This makes it so that a car can stop faster, because it keeps the tires from sliding because there will still be friction between the tires and the road. Anti-lock braking systems have sensors that detect when the brakes lock up. The system prevents the brakes from locking by releasing the brakes over and over again until they are not locked. This helps the driver avoid sliding on the road because it lets the tires keep their grip, and it allows the driver to steer the car in the direction it needs to go in in order to avoid hitting an object or whatever is up ahead. Anti-lock brakes should be required by law in all cars that are driven in Iran. |
